We've been working to provide emotional support in the Chesterfield area since 1971 and based on Saltergate since 2015. Today we have more than 50 Samaritans, all volunteers, who are dedicated to supporting our callers. Throughout the Coronavirus crisis the branch has remained open, although we've been unable to see face-to-face callers.

We rely on our shop for funding but there have been periods of closure during 2020 and 2021 due to Coronavirus.

It costs us £200 to cover the cost for every new volunteer to build the skills they need to answer a call for help. Your kind donations help to fund this. Please give generously if possible.
