We've been working to provide emotional support in the Chesterfield area since 1971 and based on Saltergate since 2015. Today we have more than 50 Samaritans, all volunteers, who are dedicated to supporting our callers. Our branch takes over 5,000 calls per year, as well as handling Emails and Online-Chat.

It costs us £133 to cover the cost for every new volunteer to build the skills they need to answer a call for help. Our branch is totally funded by your kind donations; we have no paid staff, we are all volunteers! Please give generously if possible.

£10 - will cover the cost of a call from somebody desperate for help
