This year, 18 local musicians and bands have very kindly donated their time to play a total of 9 hours of busking on Orchard Street, Preston, to raise funds for this marvellous local charity.

This online fundraiser runs alongside the bucket collection which will be happening on the day. My target in total is a lofty £1,000, and I'm hoping that might be made up of roughly 60% online donations and 40% cash donations.

Please give generously so that we can be there for people who really need a listening ear when times are dark. And come along to hear some wonderful music on 24th July 11.30am - 4.30pm outside The Black Horse and The Market Tavern.

Samaritans of Preston & District is a local charity which has been open since 1970. We currently have 100 volunteers. The helpline is a freephone number (116123) and the email address is also free ([email protected]). These are staffed 24/7 every day of the year. Samaritans is open to anyone who needs to talk things through anonymously, no matter what is troubling them. We do not advise or judge, but we offer the space and time to speak and really be heard.

As a charity, Preston Samaritans is 100% volunteer run. We have no paid staff and we rely entirely on donations and fundraising activities to keep the lights on.
