My Story

I am a Samaritan and work from this branch. During my time as a listening volunteer, I have experienced a huge variety of calls. I will never be able to fully explain how valuable it is that people have the facility to be able to talk when they are alone and desperate.

As the charity coordinator at my school, Pocklington Prep, I am proud that the children voted to support this cause this academic year. One of our annual events is the 'Pock Run' and I am excited to say that this will take place on Friday 19th April 2024.

On Saturday the 20th of April 2024, York Samaritans will be taking over the Heslington Park Run where anyone is very welcome to come along, either to say hello or join in. Then on Sunday 21st April... It’s the big run for me 😱😁 I have my usual place as a virtual runner and have invited pupils/families to compete to create a 26.2-mile course for me to follow. Not only will the winning route win a prize, but I will do the route.

Please follow our story and donate if you can, this really will save lives! πŸ’š
