Rotary Club of Great Britain - Dragon Boat Festival 16th June 2024 - Raising funds for Bristol Samaritans
Team
Bristol Samaritans Dragon Boat 2024
About
Join us in raising funds for the Bristol Branch of the Samaritans supporting people in distress and dispair all across the region and country. The money raised goes directly to to running of the branch (literally keeping the lights on!) and local outreach efforts to help raise awareness of what we do and who we are there for.
We participate in this event once a year and it is always great fun, very rewarding but (importantly) quite tiring! We undertake two training mornings prior to the event and on the day itself we take part in 3x 200m races + more if we reach the finals.
Sponsor your friend or family member in a trial by paddle on June 16th in Bristol Docks!
This donation page is for the whole team so if you would be so kind as to give their name a shout out when adding your donation they'd appreciate it I'm sure!
Thank you,
Bristol Samaritans

Who are the Samaritans?
Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help.
We’re here, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure.
Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, we’re taking action to prevent the crisis.
We give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. And we encourage, promote and celebrate those moments of connection between people that can save lives.
We offer listening and support to people and communities in times of need.
In prisons, schools, hospitals and on the rail network, Samaritans are working with people who are going through a difficult time and training others to do the same.
Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide. That’s why we work tirelessly to reach more people and make suicide prevention a priority.
Thank you for reading this and if you are able to come down to Bristol Harbourside on the 16th June to cheer on the person you're donating to, then you'd be most welcome. We'll be down the Cottage Inn end of the docks (nearest the Suspension Bridge). We look forward to seeing you.
