I got persuaded to enter the ballot for the Great North Run on the basis that I was unlikely to get in, and then I did! This is my first half marathon, and prior to entering the furthest I had ever run was a 5k in lockdown. I'm running on Sunday 7th September on behalf of my local Samaritans branch; I know how much they do to support our community and how much work their volunteers do, and if you are able to support them for my run that is greatly appreciated
