My Story
Hello everyone!
I have been fortunate enough to secure a ballot place for the London Marathon which takes place on 2nd October 2022. I have chosen to fundraise for Havering Samaritans which is a charity extremely close to my heart. Havering Samaritans is an independent charity that is the local branch of the National Samaritans.
I am an active Listening Volunteer at the Havering branch and each week I speak on the phone to callers who are in need of a listening ear.
Samaritans are here, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope and needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. 24/7 emotional support via freephone, email, and face to face is available.
Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, we take action to prevent the crisis. We give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. Samaritans offer listening and support to people and communities in times of need.
Your donation will support both myself and the other members of Samaritans Havering to continue the work we do in order to support those who need us most. A £10 donation could answer two calls for help, so we can enable more people to find the strength to keep going. £24 could help train and support Samaritans volunteers, making sure people are not left to struggle alone this year.
Samaritans is a fantastic organisation who are able to support anyone struggling to cope, whoever they are, however they feel, whatever life has done to them. Samaritans are there for anyone who needs to talk. Whatever you are going through, a Samaritan will face it with you.
Watch this space for more fundraising events that I will be planning over the next few months.
Lots of love,
Gracie 💚
