My Story
This year Samaritans are charity of the year for the 2024 TCS London Marathon and our local branch in Hull are planning our own Marathon fundraising plans for the weekend!
A 24 Hour Row at the Bandstand in Beverley
From Saturday 20th April at 1.00pm to Sunday 21st April at 1.00pm Michael Starkey and Callum Norsworthy will be attempting to complete 24 hours on a rowing machine (12 - 1 hour stints each in relay).
This will take place on the Bandstand in Saturday Market, Beverley, please come down to show your support!
26 Hour Shift in Hull
We are running our longest Hull Samaritans shift ever! Hull Samaritans is not a 24-hour branch, so please sponsor our volunteers who will be taking calls throughout the night.
Turning the city Green
On Saturday and Sunday night Hull will be floodlit in Samaritans' Green.
Samaritans are always there for anyone who might be struggling with life's difficulties. We will listen to anyone, in confidence and without judgement. Our vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
The branch takes over 12,000 calls a year. We are all volunteers and have to fund the branch ourselves. Your donations will help us run the branch which includes training new volunteers, spreading the message of what we do locally and paying the bills. Every donation is very gratefully received and goes directly to the Hull branch.
