My Story
Running so fewer lives are lost by suicide
In March I'm running two half marathons in aid of Derby Samaritans. As a Samaritans Listening Volunteer I know first hand what a difference it makes - talking can be a life line. Every ten seconds Samaritans responds to a call for help.
Life is an ongoing challenge; I run to escape those life stresses. Running is both my passion and saviour. One challenge for me is that I've total vision loss after having had both eyes removed. To be able to run AND raise finds for Derby Samaritans means a lot to me.
It costs at least £35,000 to keep the Derby Branch open 24/7 every day of the year so we can be there for those in need. Your support will help us to continue to listen to those in crisis. Thank you.
And for those who love the detail, my first half marathon will be at Dorney Lake, Slough on 9th March 2025 and the second on 23rd March in Reading.
