Samaritans of North Herts & Stevenage

About us

Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide. We believe that suicide is preventable.

Samaritans is here for anyone struggling to cope – day or night, 365 days a year. We take action to prevent people reaching crisis point, helping people find ways to cope and learn the skills to be there for others. We campaign to make suicide prevention a priority.

Samaritans is a charity working across the UK and Ireland and we need donations to help fund our life-saving work.

Fundraising 2024:

North Herts & Stevenage Samaritans had an amazing year in 2023, hosting the Samaritans National Walk and benefitting from the Samaritan campaign run to raise money for us by the wonderful local artist, Sarah Graham.

At our branch, volunteers spend around 500 hours a month taking over 20,000 calls a year.  The cost of providing our service amount to approximately £88 per day.  With the exception of income from investments, no income is received other than from voluntary donations from the public and local organisations and local government grants.

Please support us in any way you can to keep the branch open 365 days a year to take calls.
