Thank you for registering to participate in this year's Samaritans National Walk on Saturday 27th September hosted by Samaritans of Cornwall at Truro

You have chosen to register for part of The Maritime Route: The Roseland and South Coast route - this section runs from Falmouth to the River Tamar. This 80 miles section starts in Falmouth, continues over the famous Carrick Roads on the Fal River, onto many beautiful fishing villages and maritime ports including St Mawes, Mevagissey and Charlestown, crossing the River Fowey towards Polperro and finally onto Looe and around Rame Head. The Maritime route passes through many wonderful sandy coves, and takes in a quieter but nonetheless breathtaking side of Cornwall’s coast.

There is a one off registration fee of £25.00.

You then have the opportunity to raise funds for the Truro branch who are organising the walk or a local charity of your choice. The Truro branch of the Samaritans is responding to over 20,000 calls for help each year via phone and email. There is also significant activity to raise awareness of the charity to hundreds of thousands of people across Cornwall through proactive awareness and preventative work within our community. We receive no government funding, so must raise significant funds each year to keep doing this vital work. Whilst there is no official minimum target for fund raising, we're hoping each walker can raise over £100 in order to reach our goals.

We will work with you to find a section of this route which is suitable for you. More details will follow as we finalise this event and you will be kept fully informed once you register.  An organiser will contact you using your email address given on registration.

Shortly after registering, you will receive an email from the Truro team asking how much of the route you would be able to walk. Once we have a good number registered for each route we will allocate individuals to the walks in groups of at least 3. The routes range from 5 miles to 12 miles in length with some in between.
